What is SMS by Email?
This service allows you to send SMS messages to any mobile phone of your choice, using your email account. The service also allows you to send out SMS Broadcasts to staff, clients and customers.

How does it work?
It's easy. There is no need for you to download or install any software. All you need to do is provide your email address to register on our system. Alternatively we can activate an entire domain name. It’s your choice. The messages you want to send out as SMS go from your email account to our server and we send them on to the mobile phone numbers you nominate.

How do I send a message?
Simply compose a plain text email message. In the "To:" section of the email where you normally type an email address, you type "mobilenumber@redcoal.net" (you replace the word "mobilenumber" with the actual number you are sending the message to, eg. "043440000@redcoal.net"), then send the email as normal.

How do I send multiple SMS messages?
If you want to send the same message to, for example, 400 people, you may either have the 400 email addresses in the "To:" field of your email (which is not the most efficient option), or you can send us the 400 mobile numbers you want to use and we'll upload them to the server and give them a list name (for example "marketing"). We would also provide you with a password as a security feature for this service. If you choose this option then the "To:" field of your email would become "marketing.password@redcoal.net".

Another method of sending multiple SMS by email is to attach the CSV file (containing all the mobile numbers) to the email. The name of this file must start with the word "list". For example "List-name.csv". You must also attach the SMS message in a TXT file. The name of this file must start with the word "document". For example "Document-message.txt". Then the "To:" field of the email would become: SMS-broadcast@dingofax.com

Can I set it up for multiple users to access this service?
Yes. A password option is available should you wish to use this service for multiple user accounts.

Can I send group messages using this service?
Yes. You can create a group of mobile numbers for regular SMS Broadcasts and updates to your sales staff, technical support groups or marketing databases.

How long does the service take to set up?
We generally complete your order within an hour during normal business hours.
